Guinness Africa Competition to Find African Filmmaker

Ross Haddow, Brand Manager – PR and Digital, Guinness Africa talks about: how the idea for the competition came about; how the competition works; funding the shortlisted candidates; and when the results will be announced. According to Harriet Beaumont at Mofilm, who are handling the competition for Guinness:” It wants filmmakers who are based in Africa or of African origin to create a short film that portrays how Africa is Made of More. This is a contest based opportunity and we offering both financial support filmmakers who wish to enter a film as well as providing constant feedback and mentoring. This truly is a great platform for an African filmmaker to be noticed by the advertising world globally and to be celebrated”.

This contest is open to any African citizen or resident and is a chance to get show the world what you are made of, as the winning spot will become Guinness TV ad in 2014 and showcased globally. There are also 10 great cash prizes to be won, as well as production grants that you can apply for to help cover the cost of creating an amazing film.
