SAIDI BALOGUN  Amaka IGWE is one of the few iconic figures The Movie Ambassadors of Nigeria look up to and still hope to meet soon to tap from her wealth of experience. We received the sad news of her death with shock amidst tears. On personal achievement as a thespian she is a doyen but most importantly is her quest to have a unify the movie industry with identity of professionalism is enormous and glaring. We will always remember u and pass this on to generations to come.

Her contribution to MOPICON alongside other movie greats and other relevant and progressive programmes that would have set practitioners free from the cancerworm that has eaten deep are immeasurable. A silent achiever. It is an understatement to say we will never see another Amaka IGWE, the truth is she has left a big shoe difficult to fill. She left when the industry needs her most. You will live a million years more. We will miss you. TMA sympathy goes to Mr Charles, the children, her family, in- laws, colleagues and friends. A national icon is gone. Nigeria will miss you. signed: Saidi Balogun – President, for:The Movie Ambassadors of Nigeria(TMA).

PASSAGE OF A PIONEER..ASSOCIATION OF MOVIE PRODUCERS ( AMP) Nigeria, announces with staggering shock, the transition of its BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEMBER, Amaka Igwe , MFR, on the night of Monday, April 27 2014. It is a piece of news that has left our entire members worldwide and indeed Nollywood in freezing silence, too stunned for words. Our hearts are laden with pain over the loss of  a titan, a  motion picture icon who gave our association, AMP and Nollywood a robust intellectual character. Amaka was a founding member of AMP and a pioneer member of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of AMP and worked assiduously to give our association a profound professional character founded on robust ideas and vision for development and emergence of a generation of thoroughbred professionals. We are still in shock and will make  further  statements later. Suffice to say however that her contribution to the development, growth, construction and reconstruction of Nollywood into a Nigerian and indeed African motion picture billboard and megaphone, will remain indelible. And for her amazing life and strides, we give God all the glory. SIGNED…Zik Zulu Okafor, National President. Yes

SEGUN ARINZE She was a fine writer and director who knew her onions. And was very blunt when discussing issues with you. She had respect for talent. So sad! Gone too Soon. We can’t Question God but we thank him for the short time she spent with us.  Charles May God Grant you and the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Rest in peace dear Sis. You sorely will be missed.
