Dr Marienne Abimbola Silva, mother of Iconic actor Joke Silva, has died. She died peacefully on Sunday morning the 19th of July.
Dr. Marienne Silva who was the third female doctor in Nigeria and the first Nigerian female to bag a medical degree passed on at 89 years old.
Dr Silva became an OON (Officer of the Order of the Niger) in 1979.
She’s survived by her children and grandchildren.

The BON (Best of Nollywood) Awards, celebrates the accomplishments of Nigeria’s actors and filmmakers. For last year’s BON awards, the organizers added four new categories. Also, four events preceded last year’s awards ceremony, including the unveiling of the nominees, and three parties: one for the nominees, one with the Governor of Ogun State, and another for invited guests.
