TREAT TO LIFE, UNLAWFUL DETENTION, ASSULT, BATTERY, TORTIOUS INTERFERENCE AND IMPAIRING ON THE FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS OF MISS CHIOMA OKOYE, CEO PURPLE RIBBON ENT (OUR CLIENT) BY MISS OGE JULIET UKAZIA.

“LAGOS MEN Drama Series boldly carries the adventures of men of oral history to the 21st century. An electrifying collage of voices, faces, and spirits, capturing the true elasticity and inclusiveness of a typical Man’s world.”

What a story that has made the rounds on social media. Many families have had cause to either wash their linens whether dirty or sparkling depending on he that perceives or rather keep their deep secrets as a family to themselves.

QUID ACERVUS- Sometime in 2014, One Mrs. Oge called UJU of the blessed memory, a friend to our Client in tears requesting an urgent need for a film producer to produce a story. She was quickly invited to our client’s house and she told the story. Our client explained that she needed sometime to gather funds to get the script written and facilitate production. She was offered a payoff for the story but she insisted she was too big to be paid a fee that all she wanted was for the world to hear her story. She needed a voice and a platform which our client offered and the deal was struck.

”At 10:00 a.m. last Saturday the 12th of August, The creator and producer of this beautiful and enlightening piece would have kissed this world farewell for a sin of producing an agreed masterpiece. With the help and assistance of some thugs, MRS. OGE JULIET UKAZIA invaded the home and privacy of our Client and dealt with her unimaginably in violation of her fundamental rights. As if that was not enough, she employed the services of POLICE INSPECTOR in Ajah Police Division to force our client to take down this movie and to stop further viewing of this movie which she said had already ruined her Family because of the names of the characters involved.

Yes is a true life story just as she wanted it, but it’s just like the rain which does not fall on one roof alone. So many families suffer this kind of situation in silence and our client has given them hope and motivation to push forward, this is humanitarian and should be commended. The Story and consideration was properly agreed and adhered to. The movie was produced and aired finally after 2 years, and she suddenly realized she ought not to have requested for the production of the story and decided to go violent on our client. With the threat of losing her marriage looming and the media attention, she offered our client the sum of Three Million Naira to shutdown the movie in connivance with the purported policeman after dealing terribly with her.

“A Film of stunning fiction and originality, tremendous visual flair, and cinematic depth, LAGOS MEN Drama Series will forever change the way we think about Men, our marital vows, our neighborhoods, our neighbors, and ultimately our own back yards…By the end of the series, on would have found solutions as minute as would be under the shokoto, strangers somehow feel like friends, and the boulevard feels a lot like home. The film is not in contravention to any known law, statute, rules of motion pictures, false, injurious to reputation, slanderous or libelous. Rather it’s a story created to bring to life peoples rough tides, calculated at superb imagination engagement.

We have taken steps to protect our client and we shall further seek redress in the court of law on her behalf. They should not conceive that the stupid chance they had on our client that faithful morning, their intimidation, coercion and threat might deprive her of her rights and all these success, newly appreciated and newly illumined by her Fans and the general public.

Dear Sir,

THREAT TO LIFE, UNLAWFUL DETENTION, ASSAULT, BATTERY, TORTIOUS INTERFERENCE AND IMPAIRING ON THE FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS OF MISS CHIOMA OKOYE, CEO PURPLE RIBBON ENTERTAINMENT (OUR CLIENT) BY MRS OGE JULIET UKAZIA.

We refer to the above subject matter.

We are the solicitors to Miss Chioma Okoye (hereinafter referred to as our Client), the producer of the television series popularly known as “The Lagos Men”. And we clearly act on her behalf and instructions.

Sometime in 2014, one Mrs. Oge Ukazia called Uju of blessed memory, a friend to our Client, in tears requesting an urgent need for a film producer to produce a story. She was immediately invited to our client’s house and she then told her story. Our client explained that she needed some time to gather funds to get the script written and facilitate production. Subsequently, Mrs Oge Ukazia was offered a payoff for the story but she insisted she was too big to be paid a fee, that all she wanted was for the world to hear her story. And that she needed a voice and a platform to tell her story, which our Client offered to take on and the deal was struck.

At 10:00 a.m. last Saturday the 12th of August 2016, MRS. OGE JULIET UKAZIA, in company of some armed thugs invaded the home and privacy of our Client and dealt with her unimaginably in clear violation of her fundamental rights. She sustained serious injuries and her left arm was badly injured. A picture is herein attached. In addition to the inhuman treatment she received in the hands of Mrs.Ukazia and her thugs, the latter employed the services of POLICE OFFICER CHUKS in Ajah Police Division (whom our Client can easily identify in a parade) to force our client into taking down this movie and to stop further viewing of this movie which she claimed had already ruined her family because of the names of the characters involved.

The series (film) is a true life story just as she wanted it, but it is a plight which is suffered by many people in their daily lives. A good number of families suffer similar situation in silence, and our Client has given them hope and motivation to push forward in life. This must be seen as a humanitarian act which should be commended. Please recall that the story and consideration was properly agreed and adhered to by the parties involved. It is quite unfortunate that the movie was produced and finally aired after 2 years, before Mrs. Ukazia suddenly realized she ought not to have requested for the production of the story and then decided to go violent on our Client. With the threat of losing her marriage looming and the unwarranted media attention, she offered our Client the sum of Three Million Naira to shutdown the movie in connivance with the purported policeman Chuks, after dealing terribly with her.

It must be clearly established that the film did not contravene any known law, statute, rules of motion pictures, injurious to reputation, slanderous or libelous. Rather it’s a story created to bring to life people’s rough tides, calculated at superb imagination engagement and to promote good societal values.

We therefore implore you to use your good office to investigate this case and ensure that the Woman is arrested and prosecuted and the Policeman Punished for acts unbecoming of a police officer. We reiterate our belief in the ability of the Nigeria Police in safeguarding life and properties of the Citizens of this Country.

Yours faithfully,
